Turkey Chilli

Further to my last post, if anyone wants to make my Turkey Chilli here is the recipe:

1 red onion finely chopped

A tablespoon of garlic

About half a tablespoon of dried Chillies

500 grams of turkey mince

2 cans of chopped tomatoes

1 can of Cannellini Beans

1 can of Kidney Beans

A cup or so of Veggie Stock

Let it reduce and serve with brown rice :) It can be adapted to suit vegetarians by eliminating the turkey and replacing with another tin of kidney beans!

Tomorrow I’m shaking things up a bit with a health kick. My new-ish job on my feet has meant I’ve been training less than usual, which tends to lead me to slacking up on my diet a bit as well, which then leads to looking and feeling like ****! Most of this can be fixed with a bit of planning, structure and commitment which I intend to implement this week!
I’ll probably be posting more health/fitness related updates as I plan on using Tumblr as a bit of a motivator :)
So this week, I’m going to do:
2x Full Body Weight Training
2x Boxing Sessions
2x additional Cardio (whether it be running or stationary bike)
Next week, I’ll up the weights to 3 full body sessions.
Instead of heading to Sushi Sushi for a Sushi Salad at lunch like I usually do, I’ll be taking some of the above pictured ‘Turkey Chilli’ for lunch tomorrow. I’m also cutting out alcohol for a month or so in order to really get the best results.

The Second Brunch!

Couldn’t resist and headed back to Tom Phat for brunch again this morning! Twice in one week is a bit naughty and this morning it also included a cheeky Bloody Mary!

The husband ordered the Roti Omelette as usual and I went for the aforementioned Corn Fritters with smoked salmon, poached egg, spinach and guacamole salsa.

It was soo good! I think I prefer it to the Omelette.

Taco Bill

My husband is American and one thing we really miss from over there is the great quality, inexpensive Mexican restaurants. We pay 2-3 times as much here and it’s rarely anywhere near as good. With that said, we still like to head out to Taco Bill once in awhile for some frozen Margaritas and Nachos.

It was tasty but the company and surroundings were more appealing than the food to be honest :) It’s hard to beat having authentic guacamole hand-made in front of you at the table with a live Hispanic Band playing (as we experienced at Rancho Viejo in the States - it was amazing and will be back next trip!)

It was a great evening out though! I particularly like the hanging Pinatas they use for decorations across the ceiling!

Modelco FibreLash

Brush on False Lashes

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot about the new Modelco Fibrelash Mascara and so I was thrilled to discover that Cleo Magazine were giving a free trial version away with their current issue.

Danni Minogue has been pushing the product and I’ve heard from a couple of friends that it’s fabulous and so I eagerly gave it a whirl this morning.

It is double ended - one side is the ‘Extension Mascara’ and the other the ‘Lash Fibres’.

The Mascara end is black and looks as you would expect a ‘standard’ mascara wand to look. The Fibre end shocked me a bit though - it looked a bit like a small wand with white fairy floss on it. At first I thought I may have got a faulty, dried out wand (and my mum who also tried it out thought the same!). However it may be that the texture of the fibre is meant to be that way.

As instructed I applied one coat of the Mascara first, followed by a coat of the fibres. The little fluffy fibres clung to my lashes in a bit of an uneven manner which made me nervous that the final result might look clumpy. A little piece of fibre also fell into my right eye which irritated it quite a bit and I couldn’t see it clearly to get it out. It stopped bothering me after about 15 minutes, but I’d recommend not applying this coat too close to the lash line to avoid such circumstances.

I finished it off with a final coat of the Mascara which seemed to even out the fibres and not leave the lashes clumpy at all.

This Mascara did not leave me disappointed but I can’t say that it was any more impressive than other mascaras that I have used. My lashes look full and healthy and I do recommend trying out the trial version as it may work for you.
